Saroj Choker

Saroj Choker

The finesse of Indian craftsmanship and the meaningful beauty of Indian motifs come together in this skillfully handcrafted uncut diamond/polki and gold choker.

The highlight of this Indian choker is the peacock, handcrafted in gold and dressed in uncut diamonds/polki using the traditional jadai technique. Hints of blue and green meena add a vibrant dimension against the subtle uncut diamonds/polki. On either side of the peacock are chaand-phool motifs dressed in uncut diamonds/polki, emerald, glass-filled ruby, and sapphire. All these units rest on a gaadi (cushion-like base), which enhances not just the aesthetic but also the wearability of the choker. A sea of cultured pearls and gold ball drops adds unparalleled grace to the choker.

Of all bird motifs in Indian jewellery, the peacock is the most important. It is the vahana (mount) of Lord Shiva and Parvati's second son, Karttikeya, and symbolizes joy, beauty, and pride.
